Needlework A Go Go 34

Needlework A Go Go 34
For you vintage fashion aficionados, I've scanned a couple Modern Needlecraft magazines. Nothing particularly dazzling, but it's one more piece of vintage ephemera nearly lost to the traces of time. Viva preservaci'on!"Modern Needlecraft" Spring 1970This is Kay Campbell - easily the most photographed girl of the seventies and late sixties.... and I'm not exaggerating. This girl wasn't in the big league magazines (Vogue, Cosmo, etc.) very often, but she was damn near everywhere else. From JC Penney catalogs to Crocheting pamphlets - you were guaranteed to find a shot of Kay. She deserves a Retrospace post of her own (In January 2011, I did a post trying to identify her - I kept seeing her, and not knowing her name was killing me. Thankfully, that's been solved. However, I've got hundreds more of Kay that need to see the light of day. Stay tuned.)Kay again. I love these yarn dresses - basically see-through. Love to see these make a comeback.A word of advice, ladies - skip the hats. "God Bless Our Pad".... classic. She looks like she has a headache. Somebody get this woman some Excedrin. "Modern Needlecraft" 1967 In '67 things were still really classy. There's still a strong trace of that Jackie Kennedy look to be found. It wasn't long before the gloves came off and things got a bit more casual.
